No-line Watercoloring Hippos

This is my final card to 2017 MFT super star constest in the coloring virtuoso category. Coloring is defintely not my thing and seeing so many good works submitted, it also takes courage to participate!

I stamped the images with distress ink and colored them with a mix of Daniel Smith watercolor and Zig clean color real brush (just for the hippos).

Pirate and Treasure

This is my second entry to MFT super star card contest.

The card itself was very simple, but to decide what color theme, I pondered for a long time. In one idea, I wanted to use blue for ocean. In another idea, I wanted to use brown for treasure map. I couldn't decide which colors so I tried out both of them just to see which one looks better. But it turned out even after finishing both of them, I still couldn't decide which one looked better! I then seek advice from my husbands and sons - 3 people, and guess what? It was a tie (one vote for each and the third one couldn't decide)!

So I decided to post both of them. Please leave a comment and let me know which one you think is better.

All Seasons 3D Decorative Card

I made a fun 3D decorative card today using MFT stamps. It has 4 sides and I designed it in theme of four seasons.

To begin, all of backgrounds were ink blended with distress inks on a single piece of bristol paper (9''x9''), while the paper is still flat. It got really messy during the process and I almost decided to give up. After I folded the paper and formed the 3D shape, I continued with the hopes that I can use images to cover up the ink stains. Luckily I decided to continue. For most of the images, I attached them using folded acetates so that it looks like they sit up or float in the air/water. Finally I put sentiments at the bottom.

Stardust

I really enjoyed playing with Hero Arts August card kit. It was a bit different from my usual stamp set which I get to color the images.

In this card, I first ink blended the background with the 3 ink colors from Hero Arts May 2017 card kit. Then I stamped the girls and doves with black ink and heat embosed the stardust/girl. The background was a bit lighter than I wanted, so I went back and applied watercolor with darker shades of the same colors on top (same ink cubes with water added). In the end, I splattered some watercolor droplets and white acrylic paint to finish the card.

Teddy Bear Birthday Card

I designed this card with inspiration from MFT sketch challenge. No fancy techniques in this card. I simply adore the cuteness of these MFT stamps :)
